Harini Kalansuriya obtained her Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language from the University of Lille.

Pursuing higher studies in France has always been my dream ever since I started studying French.

In 2018, my greatest dream became a reality thanks to the postgraduate scholarship offered to me by the French government.

University of Lille being one of the most prestigious universities in the world offers leading and comprehensive degree programs in the field of Teaching French as a Foreign Language. I had the privilege of gaining knowledge, conducting an internship as well as completing a Master’s research under the supervision of well experienced lecturers and specialists of the field. The academic experience at University of Lille no doubt equipped me with knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the field of foreign language teaching. Today, I am imparting knowledge to hundreds of Sri Lankan students thanks to this valuable experience.

It is with great pleasure that I recall my two year study period in Lille. Those were the most memorable days of my life spent amidst the rich cultural heritage, the scenic beauty, the rich cultural diversity as well as the open-minded and free-spirited social circles. It was surely an eye-opening experience.

When it comes to studies, France is one of the most student-friendly countries of the world. Be it academic expenses, accommodation, health insurance or travel expenses, the French government adopts a benevolent attitude towards all students, both local and international.
