Raaif Siddeeque is a Master 1 student  in Chemistry of complex matter at Bioelectrochemistry and spectroscopy laboratory in the heart of the International Graduate School in Complex Systems Chemistry (CSC) at the Université de Strasbourg.

Here is his testimony as an international student in France

University of Strasbourg has a long tradition of scientific excellence, in chemistry, built through the ages by renowned scientists. Louis Pasteur, Charles Gerhardt and Nobel Laureates Adolf von Baeyer, Emil Fischer, Hermann Staudinger, and more recently Jean-Marie Lehn, Martin Karplus and Jean-Pierre Sauvage are the pioneers in this regard. The result is that Strasbourg has always been a center of excellence in molecular science, with its top-twenty worldwide ranking.

CSC Research and CSC Graduate School provides an inspiring international research environment with 3 active Nobel laureates, 19 Research Groups and Awarded an Excellence Cluster in 2010, the Labex CSC. Educational program includes multi and transdisciplinary chemistry programs, Business immersion days with industrial partners and significant exposure to issues relevant to industrial R&D and the innovation value chain.

Strasbourg has been on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1988. As the Capital of Europe, Seat of European organisations, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights and the European Youth Centre, Strasbourg enjoys a rich cultural life and is considered the second cultural city of France after Paris. Higher education in France with the help of CSC Graduate School, definitely a place that helped me explore the world through scientific research.
